Check Page Optimization With MozBar
The Page Optimization feature in the MozBar paves the way for you to rank higher in the SERPs. You'll need a Moz Pro subscription to use this feature, but the good news is the number of keywords and pages you can research with the MozBar is limitless—they won’t affect any of your limits in Moz Pro. So pack your bags, we're taking on-page SEO on the go!
With no limits and no boundaries, you can use MozBar to score pages on your own site or your competitor's site. This insight could help you learn where there are gaps in your own work, which keywords your competitors are optimizing for and how and more.
Getting Started
If you have a Moz Pro subscription and are logged in to the MozBar, you can quickly check any page for keyword optimization and get a score out of 100, in real time. You’ll also get detailed suggestions on how to optimize your page. This can help you decide whether or not a keyword is worth optimizing for, or maybe you’ll find you’re already doing a great job and can move on to the next page you'd like to optimize.
To start, head to a page you’d like to test with MozBar activated then follow the steps below:
Click the KW (Page Optimization) button which is third from the left in the MozBar
Enter the keyword you’d like to analyze the page for
Click Optimize
In seconds you’ll see that score out of 100 on the Summary tab. This is calculated by taking 27 contributing factors to a well-optimized page, tallying them all up, and scoring your page accordingly.
The contributing factors include basic on-page optimization techniques like Broad Keyword Use in Page Title, Keywords in Image Alt Attribute, Avoid Too Many Internal Links... and so on.
Optimization Factors
Next to Summary, you'll see the Optimization Factors tab. Here we’ve broken down your score by Fixes (items you may want to tweak or optimize) and Solved (a list of factors that are positively influencing your score).
We also highlight the highest-priority items with a red icon. If you need more insight, expand the How to Optimize link and you’ll get real advice from one of our SEO experts.
On-Page Content Suggestions
On the third tab, you can find ideas for further expanding the relevancy and reach of your content. This is gathered by grabbing the top results for the keyword you're optimizing for, extracting the most popular topics, and then ordering them by relevance.
