Chat GPT
-
I want to get your thoughts on Chat GPT for creating articles on my site to drive SEO. Does Google approve of this type of content or not? I seems quite good quality - I suppose a key question also is: is it duplicate content?
I have used on Propress website and also on blog sites so need to understand if this will reduce my rankings.
Thanks

Chat GPT can help you a lot, but only if you write prompts properly and edit the article manually. Put some effort into instructing this tool in detail, depending on the writing style you want to get as a result. Still, there's a big chance the paragraphs will be starting with the same-pattern sentences and this is something you'll want to pay attention to. You can also use for example Grammarly to check for plagiarism or tools like Originality AI (although this one sometimes detects high-score AI content for articles written with no help of Chat GPT or other AI tools).

Hello!
ChatGPT is a powerful tool that can be used for different steps of the SEO process. I wrote an article that explains three different ways to use ChatGPT, their benefit, and their impact on the positioning of your web page. If you want to read it this is the link https://digital.hec.ca/en/blog/chatgpt-for-seo/ -
@Katie231 Hey Katie! Would love to chat if you're still needing help creating articles. Although we don't use ChatGPT I know you'd be happy with the results especially if you're looking for help with rankings. I'm with BASE Search Marketing.

Regarding the issue of duplicate content, using Chat GPT to generate articles can potentially result in content that is similar to what is already available online. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the articles generated using Chat GPT are original and add value to your website visitors. One way to achieve this is by editing the articles produced by Chat GPT to reflect your unique brand voice and tone.
Overall, using Chat GPT to generate content can be a useful tool for SEO purposes, but it should be used as a starting point for your content creation rather than a complete solution. Ultimately, the content on your website needs to be original, high-quality, and relevant to your target audience to improve your search engine rankings.

@Katie231 Here's Google's official take on the subject:
https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/02/google-search-and-ai-content
TL;DR: Spam is spam. Useful content is useful content. Doesn't matter how it was written.
When I use AI to help generate content (I happen to like Longshot.AI), I also use their built-in duplicate content checker. Sometimes it finds duplicate passages which I rewrite and improve upon.
Because Longshot cites sources, I may also quote the source and link it, if the point is made well and it would be appropriate to credit, rather than riff.
Copyscape is a very cheap and easy way to ensure you aren't accidentally plagiarizing, especially if many of the words were added to your content by AI.
Most important to all of this that I have realized the more I use AI as a tool, my own bar for high quality work has gone UP. It's so easy to get to a very basic article now that I find I'm more likely to expand on ideas and bring in more sources. Efficiency is no doubt improved, but I do err on the side of higher quality, which is not a bad problem.

Yes the content that Chat GPT creates is unique and you don't have to worry about duplicate content. In fact that's how we use it nowadays on Pana Marketing. But make Sure you produce a human based content regularly. Because Chat GPT just make a new content from all previous data that has collected. So for having a great and new content, you need creativity and that's why you should create content yourself.
-
Hello @Katie231 I would suggest that you create the content on your own.
In case you still want to go ahead with the AI Content, it will do but I would suggest that someone personally optimizes that content and even mention that the content is AI written but checked by a human expert so that E-E-A-T criteria is satisfied.

Google doesn't have a specific policy on using AI-generated content like ChatGPT for SEO purposes. However, Google's guidelines emphasize providing users with original, high-quality, and valuable content. It constantly adapts, so upcoming updates may include something about AI-generated texts. Remember that such tools don't create new information but rely on already crawled content. That's why it's a helping hand for extracting ideas. You should write unique and innovative posts based on real-life experience.

Best SEO Structure For E-Commerce With Products Using Multiple Categories
Hi all, I am in the process of re-structuring my e-commerce website for better SEO and user experience. I have done some keyword research and would like some advice on how best to structure my site around those keywords. For example, my site (All Things Nature) sells a brand of wooden sculptures (Woodsculp) and I would like to rank for keywords related to that brand, the brand by animal, the brand by collection and the brand by release date.
Content Development | | nb2e4fg
Examples of keywords could be: Brand by Animal: Woodsculp Dogs, Woodsculp Cats, Woodsculp Elephants
Brand by Collection: Woodsculp Pets, Woodsculp Safari
Brand by Release Date: Woodsculp Christmas 2023, Woodsculp Summer 2022 I would create each of these keywords as a category so that they can be found by a search engine and by users. I would then structure as follows: All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp by Animal -> Woodsculp Dogs
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp by Animal -> Woodsculp Elephants
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp by Collection -> Woodsculp Pets
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp by Collection -> Woodsculp Safari
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp by Release Date -> Woodsculp Christmas 2023
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp by Release Date -> Woodsculp Summer 2022 The only problem with this structure is it would take more than 3 clicks (4) for the user to reach a product. How critical is this for good SEO and user experience? Would I be better off getting rid of the ‘Woodsculp by Animal’, ‘Woodsculp by Collection’ and ‘Woodsculp by Release Date’ categories? Structure would look as follows: All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp Dogs
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp Elephants
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp Safari
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp Christmas 2023 The only thing with this is there would be a lot of categories under the brand name which might make it more difficult for search engines and users to logically follow. Would I be better off getting rid of the brand category and replace them with the keyword categories? Structure would look as follows: All Things Nature -> Woodsculp by Animal -> Woodsculp Dogs
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp by Animal -> Woodsculp Elephants
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp by Collection -> Woodsculp Safari
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp by Release Date -> Woodsculp Christmas 2023 This would organise things more logically but I would then lose the brand category (and the potential of the brand keyword ranking?) Would I be better off choosing one main keyword to use as a category and then use tags for the other categories? Categories: All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp Dogs
All Things Nature -> Woodsculp -> Woodsculp Elephants Tags: Woodsculp Safari
Woodsculp Christmas 2023 The next issue I have is that I have products which could fall under several different categories. A product called Elijah Elephant, for example could fall under Woodsculp Elephants, Woodsculp Safari and Woodsculp Summer 2022. In previous e-commerce sites I have never assigned multiple categories to one product (I instead have used tags). Is it good practice to organise products under multiple categories for an e-commerce site? Thanks in advance for any help and advice.0 -
Rankings preferring English URL above local URL
We've recently had a redesign for our website and it has influenced our rankings a little bit. However, what I mainly noticed is that for some keywords in MOZ the English URL is looked at in terms of ranking, instead of the local URL. It used to be just the local URL ranking, even for keywords that are more English oriented, and I'm wondering if that might be hurting our rankings. And more importantly, why it's happening. An example of a page where it's happening is: https://www.bluebillywig.com/online-video-platform/

Is page speed important to improve SEO ranking?
I saw on a SEO Agency's site (https://burstdgtl.com/search-engine-optimization/) that page speed apparently affects Google ranking. Is this true? And if it is, how do I improve it, do I need an agency?
