    Is there any benefit or negative impact to including schema for both @type WebPage and NewsArticle on the same page? The websites I work on are editorial news sites. Our CMS automatically outputs WebPage schema to every article we publish. I want my dev to set up auto-generated NewsArticle schema. The are pretty much identical with a few different attributes. I just want to make sure I make the right choice about adding both or removing one.

    I have a couple sites that were penalized by Google for hosting content that made Google look bad. After a major newspaper showcased what was going on they suddenly took a major hit as if someone at Google flipped a switch and told their system not to rank the content for anything other than their brand names. The article made Google look bad because the newspaper highlighted a lot of unverified user generated accusations the reporters assumed not to be true in the context of "these accusations are mostly false, but they still show up on the first page when people search Google." I was thinking one way to fight this would simply be to host the content at a different domain, but I am concerned about the new domain being penalized as well. I don't want to completely shut down all of the original sites because some of them have brand recognition. The oldest domain is 12 years old with backlinks from several news outlets which is why the content ranked so well, but after the penalty that is only the case on Bing. I've read various articles about this tactic. Some say that you will almost always pass the penalty to the new domain if you do a 301 redirect, but the penalties at issue in those articles were for things like buying links or other black hat tactics. This is somewhat different in that I wasn't doing anything black hat, they just decided not to let the site rank for political reasons. I was hoping that maybe that type of penalty wouldn't follow it, but right now I am leaning towards simply creating a second site to syndicate articles. It will need to attribute the articles to their sources though, so they will need either no followed links or possibly a redirection script that bots cannot follow. I would really like it if I could simply change the first site to its .net or .org equivalent and 301 everything though.

    Hey Guys, Curious how people use the onpage grader for optimizing pages for local businesses specifically, I'm interested if people use keywords with or without a geo modifier since adding a geo modifier will prevent more natural writing to increase the score. If you don't use a geo modifier do you have some general rules of the city that needs to be in the H1 and first paragraph etc. Any tips for using the page grader for local businesses would be great Thanks!

    Not a techie here...maybe this is to be expected, but ever since one of my client sites has switched to TLS 1.3, I've had a couple of crawl issues and other hiccups. First, I noticed that I can't use HTTPSTATUS.io any more...it renders an error message for URLs on the site in question. I wrote to their support desk and they said they haven't updated to 1.3 yet. Bummer, because I loved httpstatus.io's functionality, esp. getting bulk reports. Also, my Moz campaign crawls were failing. We are setting up a robots.txt directive to allow rogerbot (and the other bot), and will see if that works. These fails are consistent with the date we switched to 1.3, and some testing confirmed it. Anyone else seeing these types of issues, and can suggest any workarounds, solves, hacks to make my life easier? (including an alternative to httpstatus.io...I have and use screaming frog...not as slick, I'm afraid!) Do you think there was a configuration error with the client's TLS 1.3 upgrade, or maybe they're using a problematic/older version of 1.3?? Thanks -

    Recently there have been a a couple of pages form my website that ranked well, in top 5 for a couple of days then they disappear suddenly, they are not at all seen in google search results no matter how narrow I search for them. I checked my search console, there seems to be no issues with the page, but when I check google analytics, I do not get any data from that page since the day it disappeared, and it does not even show up on the 'active pages' section no matter I keep the url open in multiple computers.
    Has anyone else faced this issue? is there a solution to it?

    what is the best approach to beat my competitor in ranking, suppose my competitor got a backlink from a website like OEM Skin Care that has low DA but related to the same niche, but If i will get a backlink from a site that has 90+ DA like CNN, then which backlink has great impact on SERP Ranking, A- Backlink with LOW DA but same Niche,

    We have a primary domain www.postermywall.com. We have used subdomains for offering the same site in different languages, like es.postermywall.com, fr.postermywall.com etc. There are certain language subdomains that have low traffic and are expensive to get translated. We have decided to sunset 3 subdomains that match that criteria. What is the best way of going about removing those subdomains? Should we just redirect from those subdomains to www.postermywall.com? Would that have any negative impact on our primary domain in Google's eye etc.? Anything other than a redirect that we should be considering?

    I understand a lot of people in the SEO world think that everything should be under one site, but if a European school wants to expand its presence in the USA, the current domain authority is 30/100 for the European website. The school is thinking of opening another school in the USA, should they just create a subdomain on the same European site or have a new site for the USA because it's better for the branding?

    I noticed something peculiar in the robots.txt used by one of my clients: Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php What would be the purpose of allowing a search engine to crawl this file?
    Is it OK? Should I do something about it?
    Everything else on /wp-admin/ is disallowed.

    We have a news aggregator site that has 2 types of pages: First Type:
    Category pages like economic, sports or political news and we intend to do SEO on these category pages to get organic traffic. These pages have pagination and show the latest and most viewed news on the corresponding category. Second Type:
    News headlines from other sites are displayed on the category pages. The user will be directed to that news page on the main site by clicking on a link. These links are outgoing links and we redirect them by JavaScript (not 301).
    In fact these are our websites articles that just have titles (linked to destination) and meta descriptions (reads from news RSS). Question:
    Should we have to nofollow/noindex the second type of links? In fact, since the crawl budget of websites is limited, isn't it better to spend this budget on the pages we have invested in (first type)?

For this you need to first Active your expired domainsand put two to three articles After google will got it that its now active and so google start crawling after that you need to put same articles that you created on expired site on your new site with same urls Now make a wild card redirect to exact urls or posts you created on your site

    How to stop a URL from referring to another URL on my site. I'm getting a 404 error on a referred URL which is (https://webwritinglab.com/know-exactly-what-your-ideal-clients-want-in-8-easy-steps/[null id=43484])referred from URL (https://webwritinglab.com/know-exactly-what-your-ideal-clients-want-in-8-easy-steps/) The referred URL is the URL page that I want and I do not need it redirecting to the other URL as that's presenting a 404 error. I have tried saving the  permalink in WordPress and recreated the .htaccess file and the problem is still there. Can you advise how to fix this please? Is it a case of removing the redirect?  Is this advisable and how do I do that please? Thanks

    Hi,  We have a lot of links that have a spam score above 30% and 60%.  I don't know if someone has spammed our website.  However our SEO company has said we should remove these carefully over a period of 3 months while they add new good links.  I don't quite trust this advice.  Are they trying to get more business??     Hi, Background I have an international site with 32 country homepages within the same domain: eg www.domain.com/en-gb/
    www.domain.com/fr-fr/
    www.domain.com/de-de/
    www.domain.com/es-es/ and so forth We use IP redirection on the root www.domain.com (which has no HTML page of its own) to divert the user to their relevant country homepage. Within each country homepage we include: (a canonical link to itself) ... (hreflang alternates to all instances of other homepages including itself ) Our Google Crawl bot is located in Germany and so when it crawls our root www.domain.com it takes the title and description from its destination url which in crawlbots case is www.domain.com/de-de/ because of the IP redirect. What is the problem I am trying to solve? Every variation of local Google results (eg UK/FR/IT/US) displays at the top the crawled root www.domain.com page with German title/description. How can I stop this happening? Surely adding appropriate hrefs and canonicals to every homepage instance is sufficient for Google to display to you your relevant country homepage variant instead!?     Following on from a previous problem of this 2021 Waec Runz page completely dropping from index, we have discovered that 150+ spam, porn domains have been directed at our pages (sometime in the last 3-4 months, don't have an exact date). Does anyone have exerpeince on how long it may take Google to take noticed of a new disavow list? Any estimates would be very helpful in determining our next course of action.

    Howdy Everyone! Since i've seen the MozCon presentation by Richard Baxter at SEOGadget, i've been completely amazed by the links extension for Excel. I tried this morning to give it a try. Unfortunately, I cannot get it working, and was hoping that someone here could help me out. I know it's out of the usual "realm" of questions, but I figure it's worth a try 🙂 I successfully installed the addon and entered my Access id (as "member-xxxxxxxxxx" member is in my id) and the secret key. I then downloaded the "OSE" excel spreadsheet" just to make sure I get all the calls right (as I know the doc works) Once I do this, and enter anything in, I get the "an error occured: the remote server returend an error: 401 unauthorized. I then went into the config file (as the setup doc suggests) and disabled run time caching (or at least set "SEOMOZ_API_use_cache_YN":"N") and the SEOMOZ_API_timeout to 100000 from 60000. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the addin, along with regenerating the MozScape API Key Anyway, i'm not an excel wiz, and would appreciate any help that I could get on this. I'm also about to experiment with SEO Tools For Excel if anywone wants to check that out. Thanks in advance Zach Russell
