Hi everyone, I'm Levi, new here and new in the world of SEO so please don't judge if my question is silly. Back on the days when my website was built we tought of having subdomains to help with SEO. We have a couple subdomains set up https://stansted.tonorwich.uk , https://heathrow.tonorwich.uk , https://gatwick.tonorwich.uk , https://luton.tonorwich.uk etc . We do have some content on these, but from seo perspective creating a slug and redirecting it to the subdomains would be beneficial? Would it make any difference at all, good or bad? Ex. Creating https://tonorwich.uk/taxi-minibus-tofrom-stansted and redirecting it to https://stansted.tonorwich.uk Will this help or we better create different content on the slugs? Waiting for your opinions. Thanks in advance.

Will this help or we better create different content on the slugs?

Hi I'm trying to wrap my head around the best approach for migrating our website. We're migrating from our example.com (joomla) site to our existing store.example.com (shopify) site... with the plan to finish the redirects/migration then remove the subdomain from shopify and use example.com moving forward. I've never done this and asking here to see if any harm will come from re-directing example.com URLs to store.example.com URL's then changing the store.example.com URL's to example.com. What is the difference between "document" and "object" moved redirect errors? I'm used to see "object moved" as a redirect chain issue that needs to be fixed, but this week my report contained a "document moved" redirect chain issue. And it's on our homepage. Looks like it might be a HTTP versus an HTTPS issue.

Unsolved Links to my website are wrong

Hi, I have launch a new website, lorraine on october of 2021 and I have added it to a bunch a local and national directories to improme it local rankings. But when I get the domain authority and link data from MOZ it has only ten links and no one of them is from local/national directories. I have three questions: Do you know if it is normal that after 9 months DA is 1? Is there any problem with local/national directory links? I dont like buy links like others do but it seems the only way to improve domain authority and rankings.

Backlinks from subdomain, can it hurt ranking?

I just started doing an SEO audit and noticed I have 40,000 some odd back links from an OLD version of our site that has been moved to a subdomain. The back links are for articles that already exist on our main site. I don't think Google is picking it up as duplicate content because that site isn't being crawled anymore. Could this hurt us SEO wise? I plan on removing the site, but how long after it's been removed should those back links disappear?

My question has 2 parts: 1) Can you optimize a subdomain template site (a company is providing us with a template site they provide many other salespeople, but we can control the meta and content on each page), and 2) Does forwarding and masking another domain to the subdomain in question, hurt my SEO efforts?

Backllinks to our site but via redirect (still SEO helpful?)

Hi, A large website may link to us but via their internal redirect mechanism. So it would be somthing like this: [If you select the link, it eventually goes to our site but not from the original page. These links would be placed on lots of pages, but since they would all "pass through" the "redirect" page, it seems not as beneficial from an SEO perspective. Is this reasoning correct? Would google still follow the link and see where it ends up, even though it is via multiple pages? Ideally I'd prefer direct link but how much better is it than the redirect as listed above?](/redirect/rd?site=www.oursite.com/page&trackingparam=111111)

Getting existing text linked from magazine

Hello All, A major magazine DA98 did an article in 2007 about a project our company worked on. The specifically named our company in both the printed and online (PA53) versions of our article. Even though this article is old, I think this has HUGE potential if we can pull it off. Do you think it's possible to contact them and encourage them attach a link to our company name. Their newer articles are pretty good at doing this, but I guess in 07 it wasn't practiced by them. What's the best way to approach this and who should I go to? Webmaster? There is also a slight downside, the article does contain information about explosives, but not in a bad way. Could the search engines dislike this. I'm assuming not because of the PA and DA numbers for the magazine company. Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. dmac
