Dr. location website and blog

I use Moz Local to sync my Endocrinology medical clinic website to search engines and directories and it has helped me a lot. However, I want to start a blog that deep dives into Endocrine based issues like diseases and conditions. The issue is I am not sure if I should just add the blog to my Endocrinology Medical Clinic website or Start the blog off on a completely new domain because one day I might want to sell my Endocrinology Medical Clinic but keep my Endocrine based blog. What do you suggest? Also do any of your services help submit blogs without a physical address to search engines and directories like Moz Local?

If you decide to build your blog on the website of your medical practice website, it could significantly help with the breadth of your medical practice's rankings at present. If this is your primary goal, then this is the way to go. However, if you feel the sale of your practice is a sure thing in the near future, and your larger goal is to make plans for that future day, I'd advocate building the blog separately and beginning to work on its branding in advance of the day you sell the practice. Moz Local can help you microblog via Google Posts and Facebook posts, but does not currently distribute full blog posts to a network. Good luck to you!

How to best host a blog - standalone or on the site?
HI We are redesiging our site currently - at the moment we have a low key blog on the site which is pretty well hidden (to be changed with redesign) but is hosted as brand.com/blog name. I have been advised it might be a good idea on relaunch to have the blog as a standalone blog linking back to our main site but also having a graphic on the site that promotes the blog. The blog does not currently have the same name as the website so would work as a standalone site but I understand it would not have any seo benefits from the original site. I have seen on previous posts here that the best practise is domain.com/blog but wondered if anyone thought different? Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Penny

I read a very interesting answer by Andy Solo to a previous question in which he replied: "Use your blog to create some Tips & How-To's, optimize those blog entries for the long tail keywords and soon enough your blog will be the gateway into your website. Learn how to target longl-tail keyword searches and how to analyze keyword competition to find the right niche blog posts to create". With my own company site, www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk which has a long-standing blog attached, www.nile-cruises-4u.co.uk/blog I always felt that the blog content greatly aided our top positions in Google.co.uk. However, over the last 12 months we have slipped right down page one and I wondered if the blog is still helping our site or if the emphasis/value has switched and Google is looking at a lot of other factors where we score badly? Evergreen content: Dedicated section or blog posts?
As part of our content strategy we are creating an ongoing series of articles to help both our potential buyers and our users learn about our product and improve their knowledge of industry best practices in general. Internally, we've had some debate as to where we should host this content within our site. We've identified two approaches: Series of blog posts Dedicated knowledge section of the website If we go with the first approach, we would created a dedicated section that indexed all the blog posts. If we went with the second, we'd create blog posts for each of the articles announcing their addition. Is there any difference, SEO wise with the two approaches? What would you recommend? Can someone define what a low quality blog is supposed to look like?
I know the recent Google update devalued a lot of low quality blogs, but i'm having a hard time understanding what can be considered low quality? My site is www.247VirtualAssistant.com and it wa sitting in the top 3 for all my keywords(virtual assistant, virtual assistants etc etc). Last month everything tanked and now on the 2nd and 3rd page for my keywords. I'm thinking this is because of a lot of my links got devalued but with my limited SEO knowledge, i'm having a hard time identifiyng these. Please help!

Show all VS show excerpt in a blog post
I saw that you recently changed your blog from "show all" to "show an excerpt" and then "read more", could you explain me the reason? It´s not supossed to be better for the blog readers to see the full posts in the homepage?
