It's not about changing the business name, but I guess it's just to guide people to the right version of the website. So there is a 302 redirect but I don't know the exact purpose of that. I want to get rid of it, and I am looking for the best solution, without any loss in UX or rankings.

Hi Everyone,

A client of us has a Belgian website in 2 different languages, in French and in Dutch.
We make use of hreflang tags, so each user gets to see the website in their preferred language.

The landingspage on the website however, let's say www.example.be, has a 302 redirect to the French version of the website (www.example.be/fr/). And Dutch users get to see the Dutch version (www.example.be/nl/) of the website when they browse to www.example.be .

Now, I want to get rid of the 302 redirect. Should I replace it to a 301 redirect, without sending every user automatically to one of the 2 versions? Should I just remove the redirect? Or should I just leave it this way?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

It's a commercial tool.

I checked the robots.txt file and .htaccess, but didn't saw any problems.
As you say, the problem can just be caused by the user-agent.

If so, this will not affect my SEO efforts, right?

A crawler from our SEO tool detects a 403 error from a link from our main domain to a a couple of subdomains. However, these subdomains are perfect accessibly. What could be the problem? Is this error caused by the server, the crawlbot or something else?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

In Drupal between the advanced tags (meta tags), there is an option:
' Prevents search engines from indexing this page '

Do you happen to know whether these tags are seen as valid by Searchbots?

A client's website has a lot of internal directories defined as /node/*.

I already added the rule 'Disallow: /node/*' to the robots.txt file to prevents bots from crawling these pages.

However, the pages are already indexed and appear in the search results.

In an article of Deepcrawl, they say you can simply add the rule 'Noindex: /node/*' to the robots.txt file, but other sources claim the only way is to add a noindex directive in the meta robots tag of every page.

Can someone tell me which is the best way to prevent these pages from getting indexed? Small note: there are more than 100 pages.

We use Wistia as hostingplatform for our videos, but a client of us prefers to use Learndash.
Are you happy with this plug-in? Are there any negative consequences for SEO?

Thanks for your answer. I checked the robots.txt file, changed the User Agent to Googlebot in Screaming Frog, but non of these gave new insights. For now, we don't have access yet to the server log files, but when we have, hopefully they will tell us more.

Hi everyone,

A client of us has a quite new website with a lot of URLs. (Google Search Console indicates around 5300.) However, when I execute a site crawl with screaming frog, or a crawl test in MOZ, it only shows me one URL, the homepage.

Does somebody have an idea why the other pages of the website are not showing up?

About the order of the hreflangs, I actually ment inside the Hreflang itself.

Is there a difference if the order of the elements is switched:

or
<link=rel="alternate" hreflang="en-us" href="http://example.com"></link=rel="alternate">

The content is the same, but the positions "href"="http://example.com" and "hreflang"="en-us" are switched.

Do you know if it matters? Which one is correctly written then?

Might be a dumb question but I'm not seeing a solution at the moment. I have this UA code online to start measuring cross-domain for a couple of websites. When I do a test, a missing HTTP response message appears.

Anyone notices any errors that could retrieve this message? This is my code (dummy):

Two solutions in my opinion:

1. Hide the keywords and place a canonical URL on the existing tag pages to the main tag,category or blogpost pages

2. Keep the tagging and do the same as in situation one (canonical) :D. Just make sure you don't have more URL's with the same article.
