The past is the past, and the real interesting stuff always the stuff happening right now, and with the emergence of our machine brethren as finally something better than PageRank, it couldn't be more interesting.

Favorite Thing about SEO
My favorite thing about SEO is the fact that it's maybe the one and only job on this planet in which it is our job is to conversationally talk to emerging machine intelligence, without some nefarious goal of aligning it or shutting it down. I am a hardcore Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan who has been in the field of SEO longer than the field itself existed with a name and have been waiting for the current state of affairs for a quarter century. While the field of SEO and the marketing in general has not been particularly well suited to my "vibe", it is now. I'm tickled pink to find myself picked up by the Tornado that is Ziff Davis and dropped into the Wonderful World of MOZ.
