This case study started from here. A simple summary, I discover that I got +1000 backlinks from Blogspot though Google webmasters tools after making a connection with owners of these blogs which points to my new blog.

Before starting I proudly invite Thomas Zickell and Gary Lee in this discussion. I wish you accept my invitation.

Let's go to the main point, I've used Google webmaster tools so I will start with. Then Ahref which used by **Thomas **and then Majestic which used by Gary.

Take a look at "001" screenshot, you will see that Google webmaster tools discovered 1291 links points to my site.

Take another look at "002" screenshot, you will find that there are 22 domains points to my site. Most of them are good links since they are coming from websites such as Google.com, Wikipedia.org, Reddit, Shoutmeload, WordPress.org, ...etc. Beside +1000 backlinks came from Blogspot.com (blogs). Also, there's some bad links such as this one came from tacasino.com

Necessary to say that I've got some competitors and they nicely asked me to stop the competition for some keywords and I've ignored their request. So, I'm not surprised to see these bad links.

At "002" screenshot, we can see that Google didn't discover the bad links as they discovered the good links. And they discovered a lot of backlinks which not discovered by any other tools.

**Let's move to Ahref, **

I will use screenshots provided by Thomas.

At "003" screenshot, you can see Ahref report that say 457 links from 10 domains. By the way, social engagements data are wrong. I got more than zero engagements .. really.

At "004" screenshot, you can see domains points to my site, links with anchor text. Take a look at the second link you will find that it's a spammy link coming from PR2 home page since it's is over optimized. the third link is also a spammy link since it coming from a not-relevant website. Beside other bad links need to be removed. So, Ahref didn't discover all of my good links. Instead of that it discovered few good links and a lot of bad links.

In a case like this a question come needs to be answered since there are some people trying so hard to hurt my site, Do I have to remove all this bad links? Or, just links discovered by Google. Or, Google understand the case?

Gray Lee provided data from majestic which say "10 Unique Referring Domains, with 363 links, 2 domains make up a majority."

Since Gray didn't take any screenshots I will provide mine.

At "005" screenshot, you can see some of the bad links discovered by Majestic. Not all of them discovered by Ahref or Google. In the other hand, Majestic didn't discover all of my Good links.

Also, there's a miss understand I would like to explain here.

When I published the Discussion about +1000 link. Some people may think that I trying to cheat you by providing fake info and this totally wrong. I said before and I'm saying that again you are so elite and I respect you.

Also, I'm preparing for an advanced case study about this thing. If any expert would like to join me this will be great.

I've discovered few backlinks in images came from websites points to my home page. What is the value of these links?

I don't think it's easy to change it because there PHP complicated things that I don't know about. But, I will search for a trusted plugin or something like that. Seems like a good solution.

I don't know, it's a very abuse thing to ban traffic from a country. If you are saying these attacks are automated so they are not humans?

My small new blog today broke the Alexa million after 49 days. It's like you've a child that growing up between your hands. And you see it achieve Goal after goal even at his/her startup with basic skills which need some improvements. And at this point I feel like I'm not good enough because, after all, I'm not giving it what it deserves really (only 12 posts, some of them less than 200 words). I would like to thank my god, I do believe in him. Also, I would like to thank these authors and bloggers who techs me for four years about the value and the content and all this things. I read a lot of articles and posts. I remember that I read an article about the first rule which say write for someone not for something. I'm speaking to you directly and I think this is the point. I and you in one place and I speaking to you face to face.

I received an advice from one of my reader in a comment and this mean a lot to me. What means there's a connection between us. What I've achieved is not a lot. But, I'm so happy with, as for a start up.

What happened for now teaches me something and that's why I'm writing this post here. To tell something, that may help someone. From the day I entered here I've got a lot of help. I asked for thing and people helped me. I can say name, EGOL, Andy, Matt, Antonio, Donford, Dirk, Ross, Vic and Favilli. Thank you so much.

In the next days maybe I'm going to leave Moz. I'm so confused about it really. Perhaps it's so early time to join. I've used nothing from Moz tools as I remember. Just the backlinks checker tool what gave me nothing and I sent a message to the help center and I got a useful reply for explaining the case but not helpful for the case itself.

The case for me is, I've entered the supermarket searching for a specific android mobile phone and the supermarket got a very useful stuff, different mobiles types, laptops and other very helpful stuff. But, they don't have the specific android phone for me. So, I want to see what they got but, I've a primary need first. hmmmm, I don't know .. maybe.

The most thing I loved at Moz is the community, you are really elite people guys and there's a girl I spoke with and I loved her really :D. Thank you for everything, you are the best.

My new blog growing up fast and I'm about the break the Alexa million and I discovered 1,023 blocked malicious login attempts today. I'm really got scared when I saw this number. I'm using WordPress, any advises?

I do agree with you Ross and based on my own experience, my first guest post helped my blog a lot as a new blog.

I've started my new blog two months ago. I thought about two things: quality and authority.

So, I started with high-quality content and let me tell you that based on my own experience, quality is the queen of all this. Now, my new blog reaches roughly 270 unique users each day that generate 811 daily page views (1% from Google, %0.3 from other search engines, 56% from social media, 28% from links, 14% direct, 0.7% spammy sites). Alexa Global: 1,238,771

Then I've started the author journey trying to write guest posts on high-quality blogs. I found that there're two options to do guest blogging. Writing an article medium-quality and keep the high-quality content for my blog. Or, providing a high-quality content under any post that comes with my name. I found a high-quality blog which may accept my article. So, I thought about the two options and then I decided to provide a very high-quality content and I did.

The message which I received about my article was so amazing. I had some grammars mistakes and they said literally: "We didn't mind as much doing the editing since you put so much effort into providing our readers with excellent content!"

I'm so happy really and based on this experience I recommend you to think about the authority more than the link. What will make you provide high-quality content under your name instead of keeping it only for your blog.

I think my next step will be about improving my grammar skills. So, I make sure that there's nothing wrong at all.

I remember that I read an article about the first taste. In other words the first impression or the first contact. As you said it's really rare if you published a guest post. But, let's imagine I gave you one, Good content. I really take one-two days to write 500 words, what about 2000 as a good article?  Sometimes as what heppened the high-quality is enough. Some times it's not, maybe the grammar mistakes bothers you. So, the first taste in this case will be "not a good writer" and this will have an effect on the feture for me with you. While I'm just taking my first steps in a very long journey, the conection between me and what can I call masters or people who teach in blogging, writing and making content. This conection is very important for me as I learn from them, I want to show them that I've learned to be good enough for them not just a spammer or a horrible content creator. It's about there's two ways and I would like to take the good one even if it harder than the other one and need more effort. Let's say as I say always it's about **Respect. **I respect me, you, the industry and the reader as well. Just it.
